Our Testimony
Hear how Jesus has favored us…
On a Wednesday evening in January 2017 while attending my bible study at church a women named Cindy approached, whom I had never spoken to. Told me that she had a vision about me and wanted to speak with me after service. All I could do was wonder what she had to tell me. What would God want me to know? To be honest I could not wait for service to be over so I could hear what God had to say. After service, I approached Cindy and she began to tell me, “In my vision I saw that you were very stressed and frustrated about the situation you are in”. She continued to say, “God has given you the green light to go and pursue what you want to pursue”. She also mentioned that in the vision she saw two individuals that are keeping me from what God has for me. She said, “God says you need to let them go.” At that point I knew exactly who those individuals were and I decided to take heed and listen to God’s counsel.
In April I had to take an exam to become a licensed barber manager in order to open up this business. I studied and studied and when I got to the testing center and began to take the test. I realized that none of the material I had studied was even in the exam. My heart sunk as I thought to myself, “you are going to fail”. Ye of little faith, lol. How could I forget that when God calls you to something all you must do is show up and he does the rest. Needless to say, I past the exam and got my managers license. Amen.
I had gotten the green light from God, past my manager exam…Now, how do I come up with enough money to open my business? After looking for investors and speaking with banks my close friends Frank and Erin gave me the greatest advice that just helped me get even more faith “save up the money yourself and don’t get an investor” is what they told me. I listen to what God had spoken through them and well, of course you know, God had it covered. He provided enough work for me to save for my shop and even provided a job for my amazing wife Dynna, which she used to help me with bills so that we could save up for the business.
God also bought Frank and Erin into my life, two hard working friends with big hearts. They helped with all of the construction from demolition, to the floors, paint and everything else that needed get all the work done.
God also provided me with a great building inspector, that at first seemed was trying to make this even harder for me, But God used them in such a mighty way. He did my inspections and gave me the go ahead to open. It’s funny how what Satan tries to use for bad, God turns to good. I apparently was led to a very creditable electrician named Jose who the inspector knew. Which ended up working out amazingly because we passed with no issues.
As far as location was concerned, I had found one that I believed to be the one, but my heavenly father closed that door and opened an even bigger better door that would allow me to run my business at a comfortable amount I could afford.
I had so much help coming from everywhere. Manuel helped by building my beautiful barber stations from scratch, with amazing craftsmanship. Jonathan spent long nights planning with me. My amazing wife who stood by me through long nights of work and planning and held my vision as her own. And so many more people that God used to help all this come to. The best part of this blessing is that our story is still being written…
